Jeongeun is an alumna of the London Film School, BFI NETWORK Project Lab, PLOT Script Lab at IndieLisboa and Talent Lab at Reykjavík IFF. She wrote and directed the award-winning short RISE ABOVE funded by the Korean Film Council and her first full-length script THE GO-BETWEEN was shortlisted for the BBC Writersroom. Currently, she is in early development of her apocalyptic thriller ISLE OF RED.

Born in South Korea, Jeongeun studied BA Film Art in Seoul and graduated with top honours. She got her break into the film industry as a script supervisor on the top-ranking Korean thriller SEVEN DAYS and Cannes Jury Prize-winner THIRST by Park Chan-wook before moving to London.

Whilst studying at the London Film School, her short films were commissioned and funded by the Kodak UK, National Gallery, Korean Film Council and Jeju Film Commission, later earning nominations at BAFTA-qualifying Aesthetica and Underwire Film Festival as well as Riga and Kustendorf Film Festival amongst others.

Jeongeun’s artistic voice has been deeply shaped by living and working in the UK. Her work draws on over a decade of experience and insights working in UK film, theatre and TV production as well as film festivals, production companies and broadcasters. Few examples include: the London Olympics, Hull UK City of Culture, The London Korean Film Festival, LOVERS AND THE DESPOT, THE CURRENT WAR, ROCKS and BBC drama THE LITTLE DRUMMER GIRL. She is currently developing a slate of original projects focused on unvarnished and marginalised aspects of people's lives, alongside her feature ISLE OF RED. Jeongeun is a member of the Directors UK, the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain and the BAFTA Connect.
